Brief Description

Laoshi Joey brings students with him to meet his teachers in Beijing 2x/ year when possible. These trips intensive training marathons. Attending students are expected to maintain the schedule and show the same respect for the customs that Laoshi Joey does. Everyone who attends is representing Flying Tortoise. It’s 6-8 hours a day of kung fu training often with massive banquets afterwards and review of material learned that day. There is rarely time or energy for sight seeing. What you do get is reasonably priced (we make no money from these trips) immersive experience in the culture and discipline that makes Flying Tortoise as well as the opportunity to learn directly from the masters and form your own relationships with them. As we are school designed to create teachers, these trips are a vital element of our curriculum.

This trip Laoshi Joey will be made Kai Men. Kai Men means “open door.” He will be officially given permission to create masters of his own. This is a weighty honor and the ceremony and party that will be thrown by his Beijing Kung Fu family will be epic. His status within the Chinese government records of BaGua will be updated appropriately.
